TUBE Malleable Semi-rigid Penile Prosthesis is designed for surgical insertion in the corpus cavernosum penis. It consists of two hemiprostheses or cylinders composed of a core of silver, covered with a tube of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), all in turn contained within a solid silicone shell.
The silver core coated in PTFE is contained in a cover made with three types of silicone elastomers:
the distal end has low hardness, which reduces the risk of irritation and erosion. The proximal end has greater hardness, which improves prosthesis rigidity and ensures patient comfort.
The proximal section of the implant can be cut and radiopaque silicone extenders can be added in order to offer a wide range of prosthesis lenghts to fit precisely in the patient's anatomy.
